Moana (2016)

In the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania, Moana, a born navigator, sets sail in search of a fabled island. During her incredible journey, she teams up with her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui, to traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore.

First ‘Moana’ Footage Introduces Disney's New Princess

Way back in December, action icon Dwayne Johnson came aboard to provide the voice of a demi-god named Maui in Disney's new animated adventure Moana. The story follows the title character, a young girl who teams up with Maui on her journey through the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania, to find a lost and fabled island. Today, JoBlo Movie Trailers has a video that features Dwayne Johnson as the demigod Maui alongside Moana, who will be voiced by 14-year-old Hawaii native Auli'i Cravalho. Moana has been given a November 23, 2016 release date.
In April, Dwayne Johnson revealed that he will be singing in the movie. It was actually Auli'i Cravalho's singing that helped her land the role, after an Oahu, Hawaii casting agent discovered the teenager's vocal abilities during a charity competition. She was then flown to Los Angeles, where she met directors Ron Clements and John Musker, and eventually landed the role. No other voice cast members have been announced at this time.

Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast South Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped - and no one today knows why. From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes Moana, a sweeping, CG-animated adventure about a spirited teenager who sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfill her ancestors' unfinished quest. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli'i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), and together, they traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous fiery creatures and impossible odds.
Cravalho has already started recording for the role. Walt Disney Animation Studios has released a new video that shows actual footage of Auli'i Cravalho's online casting session, where the filmmakers told her that she had landed the role of Moana. We have a new photo from the movie which shows the title character and Maui together, along with new concept art. What do you think of the new Disney princess Moana? The Little Prince Poster The Little Prince

From Mark Osborne comes the first-ever animated feature film adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's iconic masterpiece, The Little Prince. At the heart of it all is The Little Girl, who's being prepared by her mother for the very grown-up world in which they live - only to be interrupted by her eccentric, kind-hearted neighbor, The Aviator. The Aviator introduces his new friend to an extraordinary world where anything is possible. A world that he himself was initiated into long ago by The Little Prince. It's here that The Little Girl's magical and emotional journey into her own imagination - and into the universe of The Little Prince - begins. And it's where The Little Girl rediscovers her childhood and learns that ultimately, it's human connections that matter most, and that what's truly essential can only be seen with the heart.

13 Sci-Fi Movies You Can't Miss in 2016

Science Fiction is a truly beautiful term. On the one hand you have science which many people (rightly or wrongly) count as irrefutable. The other side of the coin gives us fiction. This can literally be whatever the mind can conjure up. Merge the two and you have the best of both worlds, right?
In 2016 it sure seems like that is the case. This year we have the usual culprits. Sequels of reboots, maiden voyage reboots, regular sequels and brand spanking new films. This might be a stretch, but it honestly seems like sci-fi is the place where cinema truly chooses to break new ground.

Back in April, just weeks before it debuted at the Cannes Film Festival, a new trailer debuted for The Little Prince. While the film has already been released in France, China and several other international markets, Paramount Pictures set a March 18, 2016 release date for this animated adaptation in the U.S. Today the studio has unveiled another trailer for The Little Prince, which could be a huge hit when it arrives in theaters next spring.

‘The Little Prince’ Trailer Teases a New Animated Classic ‘The Little Prince’ Trailer Teases a New Animated Classic

After releasing a foreign language sneak peek last year, On Entertainment has debuted the first English-language trailer for The Little Prince. And some critics are calling it better than anything Pixar has done in the last ten years. The classic children's book arrives on the big screen in gorgeous 3D animation sometime later this year, with a summer release planned in France.
The Little Prince puts a modern day spin on Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's exquisite novel, which is beloved by children all around the world. The story follows the adventures of a pilot who crashes his plane in the Sahara desert. There, he meets a young Prince who lives on the asteroid B-612. The pilot soon discovers that the Prince is on Earth as part of a mission to travel across the universe, meeting adults on different planets so that he can learn their personal stories.

‘The Little Prince’ International Trailer ‘The Little Prince’ International Trailer

Nearly a year and a half after the English voice cast was announced, the first trailer has been released for The Little Prince, an adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupery's literary classic of the same name. The footage is completely in French, so we'll have to wait for a domestic trailer to hear voice cast members such as Rachel McAdams, Mackenzie Foy, James Franco, Marion Cotillard, Jeff Bridges, Benicio Del Toro, Paul Giamatti, Albert Brooks and Ricky Gervais, but the international trailer gives us a glimpse at the visual style that blends stop motion and CGI animation.
The original novel centers on an airplane pilot, who crash-lands in the Sahara Desert. He comes across a young boy that claims to be a prince from his home on an asteroid. During his time repairing the downed aircraft, the young boy tells stories about the foolish inhabitants surrounding his asteroid. In the adaptation, the pilot is now an old man, telling this tale of The Little Prince to a young neighbor girl. The main plot, with the old man and the little girl, is shown through traditional CGI animation, while The Little Prince story itself is depicted through stop motion animation.

While January isn't typically a big month for box office blockbusters, there can be the occasional movie that opens big. Two weeks ago, Ride Along 2 breathed some life into the new year with a respectable $35.2 million opening frame, but last weekend, it dropped a whopping 64.7% and slipped from first to third place, with the holdover The Revenant taking the top spot in its fifth week in theaters. This weekend is shaping up to be the biggest frame of the new year so far, with three heavily-promoted new releases, Kung Fu Panda 3, Fifty Shades of Black and The Finest Hours. Box Office Mojo is reporting that Kung Fu Panda 3 took the top spot at the box office with $41 million.
Kung Fu Panda 3 is expected to easily take the top spot with a projected $48 million, which isn't terribly surprising given this franchise's pedigree of critical acclaim and box office success. The animated sequel already has an impressive 89% "Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and it is opening in a projected 3,900 theaters, making it the widest release of the weekend. The Finest Hours is expected to open in 3,000 theaters, but it hasn't fared well with critics so far, with just a 20% "Fresh" rating, while Fifty Shades of Black is opening in 2,150 theaters, with no Rotten Tomatoes rating so far. The Revenant dropped to second place with $12.4 million, followed by Star Wars: The Force Awakens with $10.7 million). What had 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios scared enough to move it's big tentpole animated release by a week? Ghosts, which they are definitely afraid of. On July 15, Sony will finally be releasing it's Ghostbusters reboot. The title is certainly appealing to children and adults alike. Though director Paul Feig, who has made some of the top grossing R rated comedies of this past decade, has made it clear that this will be a lot more scary than the original 1984 Ghostbusters. And a little raunchier, too. Very young children need not apply.

The animated movie sequel was originally set at an aquarium theme park, but the studio changed its mind after watching the documentary Blackfish, which showcased the dangers of keeping whales in captivity. The story now takes place at the California Marine Biology Institute, where Dory was born and raised. New characters such as an octopus, sea lions and a beluga whale will be featured in Finding Dory.

‘Anomalisa’ Review: Charlie Kaufman Reinvents Stop Motion

There is a common movie marketing technique that I call "title-checking," which is often employed when a filmmaker/producer's movies have more recognition than the people who made them. For example, one of the Paddington trailers states "From the producer of Harry Potter," which certainly says a lot more to your average movie-goer than "From producer David Heyman." I bring this up because, if such a tactic would ever be used for the stop motion masterpiece Anomalisa, it would make for one of the most bizarre and wide-ranging promotional blurbs in cinematic history. Check this out: "From the writer of Being John Malkovich and the producers of Community, Robot Chicken and You're Next..." These are the diverse minds behind Anomalisa, a ray of cinematic hope for originality in Hollywood that very well may be one of the best movies of the year.
Seven years after making his directorial debut with Synecdoche, New York, Charlie Kaufman finally makes his return to the big screen with Anomalisa, which screened last night at AFI Fest in Hollywood. Armed with a simple yet ambitious script, this film marks his first foray into stop motion animation. Fans of Charlie Kaufman's work (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) will recognize the same types of identity-centric themes in Anomalisa, which follows a successful self-help author named Michael Stone (voiced by David Thewlis) who can't escape the mundane nature of his life while on a business trip to Cincinnati, until he meets a unique young woman named Lisa (voiced by Jennifer Jason Leigh). On paper, it may not sound like much, but the brilliance of Charlie Kaufman's story is illuminated so breathtakingly through stop motion in ways that mere words can hardly describe.

Sing (2016)

Illumination has captivated audiences all over the world with the beloved hits Despicable Me, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, Despicable Me 2 and Minions, now the second-highest-grossing animated movie in history.  Following the release of The Secret Life of Pets in summer 2016, Illumination presents Sing at the holidays.  Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, John C. Reilly, Taron Egerton and Tori Kelly star in a musical comedy about finding the shining star that lives inside all of us.

Set in a world like ours but entirely inhabited by animals, Sing stars Buster Moon (Academy Award® winner Matthew McConaughey), a dapper Koala who presides over a once-grand theater that has fallen on hard times.  Buster is an eternal optimist—okay, maybe a bit of a scoundrel—who loves his theater above all and will do anything to preserve it.  Now facing the crumbling of his life’s ambition, he has one final chance to restore his fading jewel to its former glory by producing the world’s greatest singing competition.

Five lead contestants emerge: A mouse (Seth MacFarlane) who croons as smoothly as he cons, a timid teenage elephant (Tori Kelly) with an enormous case of stage fright, an overtaxed mother (Academy Award® winner Reese Witherspoon) run ragged tending a litter of 25 piglets, a young gangster gorilla (Taron Egerton) looking to break free of his family’s felonies, and a punk-rock porcupine (Scarlett Johansson) struggling to shed her arrogant boyfriend and go solo.  Each animal arrives under Buster’s marquee believing that this is their shot to change the course of their life.

Featuring more than 85 hit songs, Sing is written and directed by Garth Jennings (Son of Rambow, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) and produced by Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy.  Released by Universal Pictures, Sing arrives in theaters for the holiday season on December 21, 2016.

This movie disappoints
25 November 2015 | by (Fl) – See all my reviews
This movie is on the scary side, too many anxious scenes, my little ones were crying begged to go home. Made the mistake of telling them scary part is over. Even the six year old who loves dinosaurs was disappointed . At the prices of 3 d movie wish had my money back. If you think your going to a fun enjoyable dinosaur movie, think again more like sadness of Bambi with a mediocre plot line.. The story for a Pixar movie was no were up to par with Nemo. The friendship of spot and the little dinosaur was one of the bright spots of the movie. The previews were not a good representation of the movie. The movie need to flesh out the supporting characters.
