This summer, one of the most popular mobile games of all time is coming to the big screen with The Angry Birds Movie. Four months after the first trailer debuted in January, Sony Pictures has released the second trailer with brand new footage, to get fans ready for the May 20 release. This footage sheds some new light on Red's (Jason Sudeikis) journey through life, which hasn't always been easy.
The Angry Birds Movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds. Or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it's up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.

It's finally here! Watch the first look at The Angry Birds Movie coming to theaters in May 2016! In this hilarious 3D adventure, we'll finally find out why the birds are so angry. The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds...Or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it's up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.
The story centers on Red, Chuck and Bomb, who fight back when Leonard and his fellow pigs start raiding these birds' nests. The supporting cast includes Keegan Michael Key, Kate McKinnon, Tony Hale, Ike Barinholtz, Hannibal Buress, Cristela Alonzo, Jillian Bell, Danielle Brooks, Grammy nominee and Latin music sensation Romeo Santos, and YouTube stars Smosh (Ian Andrew Hecox and Anthony Padilla).

Next year, Sony Pictures Animation is bringing one of the most popular mobile video games to life with the animated adaptation Angry Birds. Back in June, we got our first look at one of these Angry Birds, Bomb, voiced by Danny McBride, in a new poster. Today we have three new photos that feature a number of these birds in action. The photos come from Entertainment Weekly, who spoke with director Clay Kaytis and producer John Cohen (Despicable Me) about bringing this beloved franchise to life.
Angry Birds hits theaters on May 20, 2016, going up against Universal's Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising and Warner Bros.' The Nice Guys. With the release of these new photos, the first trailer may be right around the corner, so stay tuned for that. Until then, take a look at some of the birds and pigs that will do battle when Angry Birds hits theaters this summer.

Licensing Expo 2015 is kicking off this week, and one of the more anticipated movies that will be showing off its toys and merchandise is Angry Birds. While we'll have to wait and see what Sony and Rovio Entertainment roll out as part of the Angry Birds consumer product line, we do get the first character poster for the movie, courtesy of LicenseMag. It features Bomb, who will be voiced by the great Danny McBride.
Angry Birds is based on the extremely popular Angry Birds series of video games and will hit theaters summer 2016. The computer-animated adventure will be released in 3D, with John Cohen producing alongside executive producer David Maisel. Rovio Entertainment, makers of the game, will produce and finance, with Jon Vitti writing the screenplay. Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly are directing.
